Biden administration counterterrorism “experts,” including the head of the FBI, Christopher Wray, have repeatedly insisted that “white supremacists” are the chief terrorism threat the nation faces today. The big hole in their claims, however, is the absence of actual terrorist attacks and plots by “white supremacists.” Then when you realize that Biden himself smeared Kyle Rittenhouse as a “white supremacist” for defending himself from Antifa thugs, and that his sinister Attorney General, Merrick Garland, and his henchmen are trying to frame a crowd of Trump supporters at the Capitol on January 6 as both “white supremacists” and “insurrectionists,” it becomes clear that they can’t be trusted.
The greatest terror threats the nation faces today is the same one it has faced for twenty years now: the threat of Islamic jihad. But successive administrations in Washington, along with the establishment media, have been busy downplaying and obfuscating that threat for almost as long. George W. Bush said it six days after 9/11: “Islam is peace.” It was bitterly ironic that he was standing with Abdurahman Alamoudi, who is now in prison for financing al-Qaeda, and Nihad Awad of the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations, when he said it.
And ever since then, the U.S. government has ignored the ideological roots of the jihad terror threat. In this they also ignore the oldest adage of warfare: know your enemy. Whether we like it or not, the jihad enemy constantly points to Islam, and its holy book, the Qur’an, to explain and justify what it is doing. We ignore or deny this at our own peril. Reading the Qur’an, however, is not simply a matter of picking up the book and getting started. I’ve been studying the Qur’an for well over thirty years now, and one of the first things I noticed way back when I first read it in the 1980s was that it was well-nigh impossible to find a translation that is written in clear English. Many even obscures, perhaps intentionally, the meaning of the book’s most significant passages.
That’s why I’ve written The Critical Qur’an. At last, it’s an honest translation of the Qur’an: where the Arabic says “jihad,” so does the English in this edition. And everything else that many on the Left would rather you didn’t know — that the Qur’an sanctions wife-beating, sex slavery, child marriage and much more — is made clear here. It’s 560 pages of a clear English Qur’an, plus commentary explaining the mainstream understanding of the various passages in the Islamic world. This is the one edition of the Qur’an in English that finally elucidates the jihadi mindset.
And it’s needed now more than ever, with our law enforcement and intelligence authorities more determined than ever to ignore the real threat. It’s more important that citizens be forewarned and prepared. That’s why every American should read The Critical Qur'an, and ponder its implications, so that we can all be more prepared to defend our freedom knowledgeably and resolutely. Those who wish to take those freedoms away are more emboldened than ever. We need to be as well. And that starts with knowing exactly what we’re up against.
